Jon Gray to the Rangers & More

The Texas Rangers have made their second big signing of the offseason in two days, signing Jon Gray to a 4 year, $56M deal. This comes just after signing Semien to a hefty 7 year contract, and creates a core for the young team to try and build up for a win. Gray has pitched his entire career for the Rockies with Coors Field as his home stadium, and the belief around the league is that his stats will vastly improve once he gets away from that stadium.

In other notes, Sandy Alcantara finalized his extension with the Marlins, and the Marlins also signed Avisail Garcia to a 4 year, $53M contract.

The Twins finalized a 7 year, $100M contract extension for Byron Buxton to keep him around as the face of the franchise (when healthy) for years to come.

We are expecting Scherzer to sign today, and it is now becoming possible that Corey Seager also signs today. This should be a fun day, stay tuned for more…
